Introduction
Most lawyers would have heard the word “encryption”, and many have likely heard that encryption is a tool they should consider using to ensure confidentiality of client data. However, many lawyers would not have actually used encryption, perhaps due to not knowing how to go about encrypting data.

Introduction
This article examines the extent of the ethical duty on judges in British Columbia to report lawyer misconduct they become aware of. The obligation of lawyers to report the misconduct of other lawyers is also briefly set out. Finally, comments are made on the approach of British Columbia judges to reporting lawyer misconduct to regulatory authorities.

Introduction
When articled students in British Columbia (and other jurisdictions in Canada) are called to the bar, they are given a notarial seal. But what should these seals be used for? What obligation do lawyers have to use their notarial seals judiciously? Does one have an obligation to examine a document before affixing your seal, and by sealing a document are you lending the credibility of your name and professional reputation? This article provides brief answers to these questions.
