British Columbia Insurance Law

This book provides an overview of key principles related to British Columbia Insurance Law. Detailed rules and principles specific to particular types of insurance policies (e.g. liability insurance, property insurance, disability insurance, etc.) are not discussed, but rather this book provides an overview of fundamental principles that generally apply to most insurance policies.

The primary focus of this book are the principles that apply under property insurance and liability insurance policies, and this book does not cover motor vehicle insurance law as that is a somewhat specialized and separate area of law. See http://www.icbcclaiminfo.com for information about British Columbia motor vehicle insurance law. Further, disability and life insurance is not a focus of this book.

This book was written by Michael Dew, a Vancouver lawyer who practices civil litigation, including representing persons who have had insurance claims denied.
